How to make bacon in air fryer?

Air fryers are fast at cooking and easy to use and bacon in air fryer is something you can make with less mess in less time. I usually use the air fryer to cook bacon if I need more than a few slices.

Either for more people or to use in some pastry, baking bacon in air fryer makes life easier. Using this device is great even in the morning when you’re in a hurry and want bacon.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pack of bacon of your choosing (streaky, back or medallions bacon)[*]
  • Pepper – optional

Instructions:

Place the slices in the fryer tray on only one layer. Don’t stack them on top of each other.

Set to cook at 200 degrees Celsius without preheating, as it’s not a frying pan.

Leave it to cook for around 8 to 10 minutes. During this time you should still check your baking about halfway through because it can be ready sooner.

Pro’s of making bacon in an air fryer:

Bacon made like this is healthier, even if you use a little oil. It will be nowhere near as much oil as you’d get in a frying pan.

You’ll get crispy bacon without the burnt edges that you usually risk in a frying pan.

Additional tips:

If your air fryer is sticky then use a little oil spray before you put the bacon in.

Don’t overcrowd the basket because it won’t cook evenly. Cook in separate batches if you plan on making more than one layer.

Use air fryer liners to limit the mess if you don’t want to have to deal with cleaning too much.

Pair with egg and toast, of course, or make pastries with bacon and cheese.

You can add some other spice if you don’t like pepper such as chilli powder for a little kick.
