Fried mozzarella is a delicious Italian dish to offer both as an aperitif, perhaps together with an originally rolled focaccia. It can work nicely as a main course with vegetables.

Ingredients for Fried mozzarella
- 500 g mozzarella
- eggs 2 medium
- 20 ml whole milk
- black pepper to taste
- salt up to taste
- breadcrumbs to taste
- flour as needed
Instructions
Start cutting the mozzarella into slices of about 2 cm and then divide them into cubes again. Put the cubes in n a colander, and let them drain so that they lose the whey.
Put the flour needed to flour the mozzarella chunks, in a bowl, and turn them until they are completely covered. In another bowl, beat the eggs with salt, pepper and dilute them with the milk, mixing well. Then dip the floured pieces of mozzarella in the beaten eggs because they soak them well. Then pass the mozzarella bites in the breadcrumbs.
Now proceed to a second breading so that the mozzarella is more crunchy and there is no risk of milk leaking: pass the breaded mozzarella again in egg and as a last step in the breadcrumbs, making sure that the breading adheres perfectly. You will thus have your mozzarella ready to be fried.
In a large pot pour plenty of seed oil for frying (cooking in the oven is not recommended). Before dipping your mozzarella, test the temperature of the oil by pouring a pinch of breadcrumbs into the pan: if it sizzles, then you can dip 3 or 4 bites of mozzarella at a time. Let the bites fry for 1-2 minutes or until they are golden.
Drain them, being careful not to pierce them, using a slotted spoon, and as you proceed with frying place the fried mozzarella on absorbent paper. Dab the excess oil with kitchen paper. Now you can serve your fried mozzarella bites hot.
